Welcome to Rain Creative Lab.
Kite Square is an extreme water sport school that caters to students, amateurs and seasoned professionals. The school offers extreme sports classes specifically windsurfing and kite surfing. Kite Square wanted to redesign their existing website to reflect the dynamism and extreme experience of the sport. They wanted the website to visually capture the essence of both the sports and the company.
These are the key challenges we faced while working on the site. These challenges cover both the technical and creative aspect of the whole project.
Kite Square provided Rain full creative authority on its visual approach, with the following visual cue points:
To differentiate the company from its competitors, we borrowed current design trends of the industry and integrated it with our various learning and experience. Closely collaborating with Kite Square, our creative process went through a series of design evolution.
To address the usability, and readability of information, we resorted to simple navigational strategies to enable users to freely use the site. Also, to recreate the experience of the sport, we added an interactive kite surfer character that the user can interact with. We enabled the character to do various tricks commonly used in the sport.
As we employed hybrid approach in technology, we made sure not to sacrifice usability of the site and only tried to get the best of both worlds. Using our own proprietary CMS, we managed to provide the site an easy-to-use interface with a multi-language feature. Now the site comes in 3 languages (Russian, French and Greek)
With strategic understanding of the problem, open communication and our strong creative process, we successfully addressed various challenges that pushed us to produce a visually-appealing website for our client.
